Fredrick Hampton was extradited to Alabama the week of February 13, 2020. He has been assigned an attorney and his first court hearing is scheduled March 10, 2020.
Paighton Houston, age 29, went out to the Tin Roof bar with friends and coworkers in Birmingham, AL on Friday December 20, 2019 and it would be the last night she was known to be alive.
She would text friends that night saying "idk who I am with, so if I call please answer, I feel in trouble." She was last reported as leaving the bar at about 10:45 pm with 2 black men.
A tip led investigators to an abandoned home in Hueytown, AL, where Paighton's body was discovered buried in the backyard on January 3, 2020. The home had been vacant since its elderly owner had gone into a care home.
Paighton's official cause of death upon completion of autopsy was morphine and methamphetamine toxicity. It was listed as accidental drug opioid death. Paighton was a recovering heroin addict who spoke openly about her addiction and her recovery.
However, on January 16, 2020 Law Enforcement released that they were seeking to find Fredrick Hampton, age 50, on an arrest warrant for abuse of a corpse. Hampton is related to the elderly owner of the home. Fredrick Hampton is a sex offender from Birmingham, AL.
On Wednesday January 29, Fredrick Hampton was taken into custody in Ohio. He was found at a home in the Cleveland suburb of Garfield Heights. He has since waived his extradition and will be transferred to Alabama to face the charges in relation to the Paighton Houston Case.

Heidi Brousarrd age 33 and her 3 week old daughter Margo Carey went missing the afternoon of Tuesday December 12, 2019. She lived in Austin Texas in an apartment with her fiancee Shane Carey and their son, aged 6 along with baby Margo. She was reported missing by her fiancee, Shane Carey in the early evening. He explained that she had dropped their son off at school, attended a book fair, was in contact with him over what she spent at the book fair, and then was not home when he returned from work. Originally he thought she may be in the complex somewhere and had just lost track of time. When it came time to get their son from school, Heidi had not returned so Shane went and picked up their son.
The diaper bag, car seat, Heidi's purse, and Heidi's car were all there at their apartment. Shane decided to call Law Enforcement as it was odd for Heidi to just be gone without anything needed for the baby.
Heidi's story would be covered nationally including online. Images circulated of Heidi and Margo, friends talked about how wonderful she was, how worried they were. It was released that the baby had a case of jaundice and they had to supplement a certain formula for it. Searches were held. Social Media scrutinized every little detail they could, and most suspected the fiancee, Shane Carey of wrongdoing, however, those people would later be proven to be wrong.
On December 19, 2019 the case broke in a very public way. Heidi's body was found in the trunk of a car in Houston Texas. A car belonging to a long time friend of hers, Magen Fieramusca. Margo was then found in the house alive and well. A YouTube podcast, Jay is 4 Justice, that was live at the time interviewing a friend of Heidi's broke the news first.
Magen was initially charged Tampering with a corpse. You can read the details of the investigation in the arrest warrant below.
Since then she has also been charged with Murder.
We will continue to update this case as more develops.
